(Houston, TX) – Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC issued the following statement today announcing its endorsement of the re-election of State Representative Doug Miller in House District 73.
Rep. Miller is a committed conservative and a fearless champion of lawsuit reform. He has been a leader in the fight to end outrageous asbestos lawsuit scams. In the most recent legislative session, Rep. Miller authored House Bill 1492 which increased transparency and reduced abuse of asbestos bankruptcy trust claims. The bill passed unanimously in the Texas House. Rep. Miller is a hard-working and respected legislator and TLRPAC is proud to endorse him.
Miller was first elected to the Texas House in 2008. He chairs the House Committee on Special Purpose Districts and is a member of the Licensing & Administrative Procedures Committee. He is also Vice Chairman of the Tourism Caucus, a member of the Energy Caucus, Farm-To-Table Caucus, the Sportsmen’s Caucus, and the Manufacturer’s Caucus.
Miller has been in the insurance business since 1978 and has been president of his agency for 25 years. He is a graduate of Texas State University.
Rep. Miller and his wife Anne currently live in New Braunfels. They have two children and two grandchildren.
House District 73 is in Gillespie, Kendall, and Comal Counties.
