AUSTIN, TX—Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today announced its endorsement of Rep. Stan Kitzman for re-election in House District (HD) 85, which represents Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Waller and Wharton counties, along with a portion of Fort Bend County.
“TLRPAC proudly stands behind Stan Kitzman,” TLR President Lee Parsley said on behalf of TLRPAC. “Stan knows well the issues confronting the rural communities he represents in HD 85, including the serious and harmful impact of abusive lawsuits on Texans’ pocketbooks and businesses’ bottom line. We appreciate Stan’s continued work with us to fight for a fair and balanced civil justice system.”
“In order for hardworking Texans to succeed, we must uphold the conservative Texas values that have cemented our state as the greatest place to live, work and raise a family,” said Kitzman. I appreciate Texans for Lawsuit Reform’s support. As a rural Republican legislator, I understand that small businesses are the backbone of a community, and I have seen firsthand the pressures they are under when faced with unnecessary litigation.”
Retired after serving for 21 years in the Texas Army National Guard, Kitzman deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal and the Texas Faithful Service Medal.
He is a former school teacher, a sixth-generation Texan and a descendent of Stephen F. Austin’s “Old Three Hundred,” who were among the original grantees of land from Mexico in the early 1820’s.
TLRPAC is the political arm of Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR), the largest civil justice reform organization in Texas. TLR’s mission is to foster freedom, innovation, and job creation by advocating for a fair, efficient and predictable civil justice system led by competent and independent judges who apply the constitution and laws as written.
