TLRPAC Endorses Mike Lee for 5th Court of Appeals

AUSTIN—Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Mike Lee of Dallas in the Republican Primary for Place 12 on the 5th Court of Appeals, which covers Collin, Dallas, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties.

“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “Mike Lee proved himself to be a fair and efficient judge while serving on two Dallas County district courts. His extensive experience will be an asset to the 5th Court of Appeals which handles many critical cases for Texas’ thriving economy. TLRPAC is proud to support him.”

Lee was appointed to the 95th Judicial District Court in Dallas County by Governor Greg Abbott in 2020. In 2022, Governor Abbott appointed him to the 256th Judicial District Court in Dallas County. As judge, Lee was committed to upholding the rule of law and never legislating from the bench. His service on the bench followed three decades in private litigation practice where he represented clients in tort, contract, and commercial cases, including 70 jury trials in state and federal courts, and two dozen appeals to the Texas courts of appeals, the Supreme Court of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit.

Now, Lee is Senior Counsel with The Willis Law Group, a firm headquartered in Garland with offices across Texas, focused on civil litigation defense in Texas state and federal courts. Lee received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dallas and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.

TLRPAC is the political arm of Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR), the largest civil justice reform organization in Texas. TLR is a bipartisan, volunteer-led coalition with 16,300 supporters residing in more than 900 Texas communities and representing 1,255 different businesses, professions and trades.
