AUSTIN—Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Matthew Kolodoski of Addison for election to Place 9 on the 5th Court of Appeals, which covers Collin, Dallas, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman and Rockwall counties.
“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “Matthew Kolodoski’s strong background as a civil litigator at all levels of our legal system will bring critical expertise to the court. He is committed to applying the plain words of the law and never legislating from the bench. TLRPAC is proud to support him.”
Kolodoski is a partner at Thompson, Coe, Cousins and Irons L.L.P. in Dallas, handling all phases of trial and appellate proceedings in state and federal courts throughout Texas. After law school, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Irma C. Ramirez on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division.
Kolodoski is a member of the State Bar of Texas Continuing Legal Education Committee, Council for the Consumer and Commercial Law Section, and a trustee of the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society. He is a past member of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors and its Pattern Jury Charge Oversight and Professionalism committees, and past chair of the State Bar of Texas Civil Liberties and Civil Rights Section. He frequently speaks at legal seminars on a variety of litigation, insurance law and constitutional law topics.
Kolodoski received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and a law degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He is board certified in Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
