AUSTIN—Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Justice Jaime Tijerina of Mission for chief justice of the 13th Court of Appeals, which serves the Corpus Christi and Edinburg areas.
“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “Justice Tijerina has served our nation and our state honorably, first as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, and then as a city attorney and judge. Throughout his time on the bench—including his four years on the 13th Court of Appeals—Justice Tijerina has demonstrated a commitment to upholding the rule of law. TLRPAC is proud to endorse him.”
Justice Tijerina currently serves in Place 4 on the 13th Court of Appeals. He previously served as judge of the 464th, 93rd and 92nd District courts and as a city attorney for the city of Mission. He was also the Kenedy County attorney for 12 years, and worked in private practice in Mission.

Tijerina was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Justice Tijerina is a member of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Alumni Advisory Board, a former board member and board secretary for the Food Bank Rio Grande Valley, and former board member and president of the University of Texas-Pan American Alumni Association.
