(Houston, TX) – Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC is endorsing John Lujan in the Special Election for State Representative in House District 118. The election will replace State Representative Joe Farias, who stepped down in May. Early voting begins on October 19th and Election Day is November 3rd.
“John is a respected businessman who has created hundreds of jobs in San Antonio. He understands the importance of lawsuit reform and other pro-business policies that will keep the Texas economy strong,” said TLRPAC spokesperson Sherry Sylvester. “John is an independent and principled candidate with deep roots in this south side district and we believe he will be a productive House member and a committed advocate for his area in San Antonio.”
Lujan retired from the San Antonio Fire Department in 2012 and has continued to lead Yash & Lujan (Y&L) Consulting which has grown from a small IT business to a company with over 350 employees. As a successful business leader in his community, John is often asked to speak to students at local schools about the opportunities available in the technology field. He is proud to have placed many young people in high paying technology jobs with continued career advancement possibilities.
John is a coach, a community volunteer and a Sunday School teacher. His mother served many years as an educator in the public school system before retiring as principal of Gallardo Elementary School in the Southside School District. His father is a retired minister who recently came out of retirement to assist with the Hispanic ministry at Southside Baptist Church.
John and his wife Freda have been married 31 years. They have 5 children.
House District 118 is in Bexar County.
