AUSTIN – Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Judge J.J. Koch of Dallas for election as chief justice on the 5th Court of Appeals, which covers Collin, Dallas, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman and Rockwall counties.
“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “With experience in both the criminal and civil sides of the docket, Judge J.J. Koch is uniquely prepared to serve on this active appellate court. He is committed to fairness, the rule of law and efficiency in the courtroom. TLRPAC is proud to support him.”
Koch was appointed to Dallas County Criminal District Court #2 by Gov. Greg Abbott in 2023 and is the former Dallas County commissioner for District 2. He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office before entering private practice handling civil litigation, as well as criminal investigations and employment matters for the Dallas Fraternal Order of Police. He has also worked in business and legal technology in various capacities.
