TLRPAC Endorses Clint Morgan for First Court of Appeals

AUSTIN—Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Clint Morgan of Houston for Place 7 on the First Court of Appeals, which covers Harris County and nine surrounding counties.

“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “We need judges who are experienced, qualified and committed to applying our laws as-written. Clint Morgan is a deeply experienced prosecutor and one of only 130 attorneys in Texas to be board certified in Criminal Appellate Law. He is a thought leader on criminal justice issues and committed to upholding the rule of law. TLRPAC is proud to support him.”

Morgan is a career Harris County prosecutor, where he has been lead counsel for more than 300 appeals and conducted 40 oral arguments. He has played significant roles in some of the most high-profile cases in Harris County, and has written more briefs than any other Harris County prosecutor in the last decade. Morgan also formerly worked for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

Morgan received a bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College and a law degree with honors from The University of Texas School of Law. He is a regular columnist for the Texas District and County Attorneys Association journal, The Prosecutor, where he analyzes important opinions from the Court of Criminal Appeals, giving readers historical context and predicting the future impact of these cases.

TLRPAC is the political arm of Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR), the largest civil justice reform organization in Texas. TLR is a bipartisan, volunteer-led coalition with 16,300 supporters residing in more than 900 Texas communities and representing 1,255 different businesses, professions and trades.
