TLRPAC Endorses Chad Bridges for 14th Court of Appeals
AUSTIN—Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Chad Bridges of Sugar Land for Place 3 on the 14th Court of Appeals, which covers Harris County and nine surrounding counties.
“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “Judicial experience with proven ability on both the civil and criminal sides of the docket is critical for those serving on our intermediate appellate courts, and Chad Bridges’ background makes him uniquely qualified for this seat. He is committed to serving his community and upholding the rule of law. TLRPAC is proud to endorse him.”
Bridges is judge of the 458th District Court, a general jurisdiction court in Fort Bend County. He also previously served as judge of the 240th District Court and as chief of the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office Family Violence Division. He began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in Harris County, where he handled post-conviction death penalty litigation on behalf of the state. He also worked in the Harris County District Attorney’s Trial Bureau, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases, including an assignment with the Family Criminal Law Division.
Bridges is former first assistant district attorney in the Waller County District Attorney’s Office, where he helped create a Family Violence Division and Narcotics Taskforce. He was also chief prosecutor in the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Family Violence Division, during which time he served as president and director of the Fort Bend County Crime Victim’s Response Team. Before working in Fort Bend County, he served as legal counsel for Computer Sciences Corp.
Bridges received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. He is board certified in criminal law, a former lecturer for the Texas District and County Attorneys Association (TDCAA), and a former faculty advisory for TDCAA’s Prosecutor Trial Skills and Advanced Trial Skills courses.
