AUSTIN—Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) congratulates Pete Flores on his important victory in the runoff election for Senate District 19, which covers Brewster, Crockett, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Kinney, Maverick, Medina, Pecos, Real, Reeves, Terrell, Uvalde, Val Verde and Zavala counties, and parts of Atascosa and Bexar counties. Flores beat opponent Pete Gallegeo 53 percent to 47 percent to fill the seat vacated by former State Sen. Carlos Uresti.
“Pete Flores has a distinguished record of service to our state and is uniquely aware of the challenges and opportunities facing this district,” TLRPAC Chairman Richard J. Trabulsi Jr. said. “This landmark victory gives Flores the opportunity to continue his public service to our state, while also ensuring personal injury trial lawyers are not given a foothold to implement their job killing agenda in the Senate.”
TLRPAC joined with Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and conservative organizations around the state to support Flores.
Flores retired as a colonel game warden from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) in 2012 after serving for 27 years, and is currently a consultant and instructor for the National Association of Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs Leadership Academy. He was the first Hispanic director of law enforcement for TPWD and a graduate of the Governor’s Executive Development Program and the National Conservation Leadership Institute’s Fellowship Program. He also holds a Texas Master Peace Officer certificate and is past vice president of the National Association of Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs (USA). Flores received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
