AUSTIN – Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Lori Valenzuela of San Antonio for reelection to Place 7 on the 4th Court of Appeals, which covers 32 counties located in South Texas and the Hill Country, including Bexar County.
“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “Lori Valenzuela is an experienced judge with a proven track record of upholding the rule of law, both on the 4th Court of Appeals for the last two years and as a district judge since 2009. She is committed to upholding both our state and federal constitutions. TLRPAC is proud to support her.”
Valenzuela was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott to the 4th Court of Appeals in 2021. Previously, she served as judge of the 437th District Court, where she was the co-founder and presiding judge of the Felony Veteran’s Treatment Court. Prior to her time on the bench, Valenzuela was a prosecutor in the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, handling baby death cases, murders and violent crimes.
Valenzuela is a member of the William S. Sessions-American Inn of Court. She is past chair of the Texas Center for the Judiciary Board of Directors, St. Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home and the Court Reporter Advisory Committee. She is also a past member of the Boy Scouts of America Executive Board, Family Service Association Board, Child Fatality Review Board, and the San Antonio, Bexar County Women’s and the Mexican American Bar associations.
Valenzuela received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas and a law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law. She is a life fellow of the Texas and San Antonio Bar foundations and an adjunct professor at The University of Texas San Antonio.
