AUSTIN—Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Kevin Patrick Yeary of Austin for reelection to the Place 4 on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
“Each election cycle, TLRPAC supports judicial candidates who respect the rule of law and understand the importance of a fair and efficient legal system in our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “Kevin Patrick Yeary brings decades of experience to this seat, having served as an appellate prosecutor in three of the state’s largest district attorney’s offices for 20 years prior to serving on the bench. He has done important work on behalf of those wrongly convicted, focusing on achieving justice for all. He believes in upholding the rule of law and our constitution, and understands that legislators—not judges—create our laws.”
Yeary has served on the Texas Court of Criminal appeals since 2015. He received a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from St. Mary’s University Law School. He served as assistant criminal district attorney in the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, an adjunct professor at San Antonio College, assistant district attorney in the Harris and Dallas County District Attorney’s offices, and an associate at Hedges and Walsh. He also served as a briefing attorney and law clerk for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
Yeary is admitted to practice before all Texas state courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. He served as secretary of the San Antonio Bar Association Appellate Section, and has been rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell and Superb by AVVO.
