Nora Longoria (Democrat Incumbent)
Justice Nora Longoria has served on the 13th Court of Appeals since 2013. Previously, she was in private practice for more than 20 years.
Longoria received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from The University of Texas Law School. She has been licensed by the State Bar of Texas since 1990.
Longoria is an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a member of the International Association of Women Judges.
Greg Perkes (Republican Challenger)
Greg Perkes previously served in Place 3 on this court from 2011-2016. Perkes has more than 20 years of experience in private practice, focused on appellate law, litigation and commercial transactions. He served as a briefing attorney for the Thirteenth Court of Appeals.
Perkes received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas and a law degree from St. Mary’s University Law School, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Fraternity and senior associate editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. He is board certified in civil appellate law and was a certified hearing examiner for the Texas Education Agency Division of Hearings and Appeals.
