(Houston, TX) Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC endorsed in 39 Republican Primary races and 36 of those candidates won the Primary or advanced to the Run-off. Strong re-election victories by Supreme Court Justices Eva Guzman and Paul Green, a top priority for TLRPAC, assure that the Supreme Court of Texas will remain principled and conservative.
“Texas voters cast their ballots for judges who will maintain the integrity of our courts and lawmakers who will protect the lawsuit reforms that have made Texas the job creator for the nation. It was a good night for tort reform up and down the ballot and across the state,” said Dick Trabulsi, TLRPAC Board Chairman.
TLRPAC also endorsed in two important Courts of Appeal races. Justice David Schenck on the Fifth Court in Dallas, was re-elected and Kevin Jewell was elected to the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston.
TLRPAC endorsed State Rep. Bryan Hughes, who came up just short of winning the GOP Primary for Senate District 1 outright. He will compete in a run-off against State Rep. David Simpson.
While TLRPAC did not endorse in any Democrat primaries, the defeat of State Rep. Trey Martinez-Fischer in Senate District 26 by Senator Jose Menendez in San Antonio removes an outspoken advocate of the trial lawyer agenda from the Texas Legislature.
TLRPAC endorsed 30 Republican House incumbents and the candidates we supported were victorious in 27 of those races. TLRPAC also endorsed in 3 open House seat races and the candidates we backed all won.
TLRPAC is the political arm of Texans for Lawsuit Reform, the state’s largest civil justice reform organization. TLR is a bipartisan, volunteer-led coalition with more than 18,000 supporters residing in 869 Texas communities and representing 1,266 different businesses, professions and trades.
